Find Previous Match

Post by cjegan »

Charles,

I have a problem with Find Previous Match.

I have a log file open.
I refresh it and move to the end.
I click on the up arrow in the Search Bar to find the previous match of the last word I searched for.
The search fails with "String not found" - but the second click works.
Shift+A or Shift+F3 never finds the match.

I have no items ticked in the Search preferences. Trying Find next from Current position makes no difference. Perhaps there needs to be a Find Previous from Current position option.

Chris

By the way, I could not search for this problem in the forum - the search filter ignores both "find" and "match"

I should have said that when I go to the end of the file, I do not click on the last line. If I do so, this must set the current line, and the Find Previous Match works.
I assumed that going to the end of the file would make that the current line - there are times that would be useful, and others when it would not. I'll make sure I click on the last line.

I have a problem with Find Previous Match
This should have been fixed in Version 13.

Are you using Version 12 (or earlier)? If so, please upgrade to the latest version by selecting "Check for Updates" from the Help menu.

If you are using Version 13, can you tell me how you are going to the end of the file? By pressing the End key?

Charles.

I was using version 12, but version 13 has solved the problem. I am using the End key to reach the end of the file.

Thanks

Chris
