Re: Copy / Move History
I can't reproduce the problem. What exactly are you doing?Using 64 bit V on Win 7 Pro. The copy or move history is not being recorded.
Are you selecting the destination folder by pressing the Browse button or are you entering it manually?
Note that the destination folder is not added to the history if Use Current Directory or Use Other Pane is selected.
Regards,
Charles.
Re: Copy / Move History
I have used both the browse button and manual input of the folder. Everything works fine on Win 7 32 bit & XP. But the 64 bit Win 7 only shows the current folder in the destination line and history window. I can enter the destination folder and the file will get copied OK. But when I go to copy/move another file the destination folder only shows the current folder.

Re: Copy / Move History
Can you send me a screen shot of the Copy To dialog box just before pressing the OK button to do the copy? But when I go to copy/move another file the destination folder only shows the current folder.
Also send me a screen shot of the subsequent copy showing that the previous folder was not added to the history.
If you are familiar with the Registry Editor (REGEDIT), can you please see if the following key exists:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Prineas\FIleViewer\PathHistory\CopyPathU
Also try running V as an Administrator to see if it makes any difference (right-click on the V shortcut and select Run As Administrator).
Thanks,
Charles.

Re: Copy / Move History
Being an Administrator does not necessarily mean that you are running with Admin privileges.I do run as Administrator.
When you right-click on the V shortcut, is there a Run as Administrator option? If there is, please select it to see if it makes a difference.
Also, if you are not running the V12 Preview (http://www.fileviewer.com/Beta.html), please install it to see if the problem goes away.
If the problem persists, I will send you a diagnostic version to help find the problem.
Thanks,
Charles.

Re: Copy / Move History
Thanks for running the diagnostic version I sent you. It shows that the permissions on the FileViewer registry key are all wrong - and I do not know why!
In the Registry Editor, when you right-click on
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Prineas\FileViewer
you should see a bunch of permissions - but you do not.
To fix the problem, you will have to completely uninstall V and re-install it. Unfortunately, you will lose any customized settings.
After uninstalling V using the Control Panel, use the Registry Editor to confirm that the above FileViewer key has been deleted. If it hasn't, delete it manually.
Then re-install V and use the Registry Editor to check that the permissions of the FileViewer key are OK.

Charles.
