'Evening Charles and all,
Just noticed a name resolution problem in a new Win2k8 Server I am configuring which required editing their hosts file.
When I navigated to the directory V could not find it, yet explorer does?
I am logged in by TS as administrator.
I attempted 'add the directory' but V (V14) reported that it was already present, so I just added the DNS I needed in Notepad++ by opening the location and file.
Haven't struck this one before.

This is because you are running the 32 bit version of V on a 64 bit version of Windows.
Basically, the system32 folder that a 32 bit program sees is different to the system32 folder that a 64 bit program sees! I try to explain the problem here:
http://fileviewer.com/V64.html
You should not have the problem when using the 64 bit version of V.
