Re: Version files & V settings backup

Computer acting really flaky, so am slow to reply. Any reason not to delete these? These are kept so you can roll back to a previous version. You can delete them if you don't want to do this. OK, thanks. Haven't needed to roll-back in 18 yrs., so I'll dump all but the last 1. Part of my backup proce...

Version files & V settings backup

Hi Charles, First: In the V64 dir, there are several files starting with the name "v.exe.Version", starting with 14. I'm guessing they're related to updates and/or maybe rollbacks? Any reason not to delete these? Keeping one or two of the most recent? (Doing some house cleaning & backi...

Re: Directory Date Format Problem

Okay, after lots of circles-going-around-in, I found where the problem is coming from. I just recently changed my Short date format to: "ddd, MM/dd/yyyy" so that the Systray clock-cal would display as "Sat, 03/06/2016" instead of "03/06/2016". Adding the comma after the...

Directory Date Format Problem

I don't know what, if anything, I did, but the date format in the directory and file listings now have commas instead of slashes: As displayed in V (using File-> Copy to clipboard): v.exe 02,13,2016 As displayed in Windows Explorer (apparently using the long date format): v.exe Sat, 02/13/2016 12:30...

Re: Tabs and Favorites

That was quick! And so far nothing else seems broken. :)

You've created a monster, though. So far, I already have 4 tab sets, all dual-pain, at least 3 tabs in each pane.

It's possible I may need professional help. :D

Thanks again, Charles.

Re: Tabs and Favorites

Admit it, Charles, if it wasn't for people like me coming up with stuff like this, your life would be boring. I feel it's my job to, every once in a while, help keep you on your toes. I think I can take the rest of the year off now.

Thanks,

Tabs and Favorites

I'm currently using 15b3 x64, but this "issue" came up before I installed the beta. I have 3 tabs open in one pane: c:\ , c:\data, c:\programs. I want to open another instance of c:\data in a new tab (or even an existing tab), so that I might have c:\, c:\data, c:\programs, c:\data. [I wan...

Searching including 4DOS descript.ion

Hi Charles, V vers. 14 SR5 (x64) I did a quick search, but didn't see this. I thought at one time search results would included matches inside the 4DOS descript.ion files. If it did do this, I can't make it do it now. If it didn't ever do this, is there a way to implement it? (Hopefully soon?) Thank...

Re: Pane Tabs Vers. 14 Beta 1

On the way. --George Update: just discovered my email service provider has been having problems, I thought it was at my end, so it's possible I may have sent 3 or more copies of my email. Or maybe none. Let me know if you didn't get at least one, or if I'm now in your sp*m filter. --George Ag...
